The House Book von Merchant and Mills
ENG: HOUSE is a collection of inspirations, ideas and patterns for the home. This book was born out of the success of our PDF pattern bundle The Grove Creations. The Grove Creations contains patterns for the home that we designed while renovating The Grove, the Merchant & Mills house in Rye.
In addition to the original patterns, the book contains new and unseen patterns and an exploration into the importance of handmade in the home: Carolyn shares the story of The Grove and the process of renovating and designing a home around our fabrics; we share an interview with Victoria Barker of Faeger, an interior designer and an expert in creating both residential and commercial spaces that put handmade in the spotlight; we talk about why we champion natural fibres in both our homes and wardrobes, not only as a more conscious and sustainable option but also a practical and beautiful one.

DE: Das neue Buch „HOUSE“ von Merchant & Mills ist eine Sammlung von Inspirationen, Ideen und Mustern für das Zuhause. Es basiert auf dem Erfolg des PDF-Musterbündels „The Grove Creations“, das Schnittmuster für das Zuhause enthält, die während der Renovierung des Merchant & Mills-Hauses in Rye entworfen wurden. Neben den Originalmustern enthält das Buch auch neue und bisher unveröffentlichte Muster sowie eine Erkundung der Bedeutung von Handarbeit in Wohnungen. Ein Interview mit der Innenarchitektin Victoria Barker von Faeger, die Handarbeit in den Mittelpunkt stellt, gibt Einblicke in die Gestaltung von Wohn- und Geschäftsräumen. Zudem wird erläutert, warum die Verwendung von Naturfasern in Wohnungen und Kleiderschränken nicht nur eine bewusstere und nachhaltigere Option ist, sondern auch praktisch und schön. Die Projekte im Buch sind für verschiedene Fähigkeitsstufen konzipiert und bieten einfache Modelle, um Räume zu verändern, ohne eine Renovierung oder große Investitionen vornehmen zu müssen.
